Teresa Doughty
Since leaving Art College Teresa has pursued her
occupation as a professional artist for more than twenty years.
In this time she has taking commisions and building up
her excellent stock of paintings, learning to do etchings at the DCA,
mounting exhibitions throughout the UK and marketing her work.
As you will see within this web site, where they are on sale, she is now having
cards and signed limited edition prints of her work professionally made by the Dorset company, Image Art.
Teresa received her B.A including Fine Art from the O.U.
She currently lives in Freuchie in the lovely Howe of Fife, Scotland.
She describes her work as:
" An attempt to achieve harmony, order and beauty
through the resolution of conflict using creativity.
It is a search for meaning in a world which seems to
represent conflict and chaos.
I use the limitations of traditional forms to explore a
spiritual response to visual experience.
In the last few years beauty expressing a spriitual
approach to the visual world was my aim,
while exploring colour as a way to do this.
I perceive there is an essence in the being of things, and people,
that is living energy and is moving to a greater harmony.
I wish to develop this in my painting. "
